I wish I could have shown this to my elementary students when introducing the concept of what technology is, but it’s really only appropriate with much older students. While purposely satirical, there are stereotypical concepts of technology within the video that are actually more prevalent than you might think. If you’re a technology and/or computer teacher at the secondary level, this might be a fun way to introduce either misconceptions people have about technology (“robots are technology shaped like square people”), or point out how one of the most humorous segments (a character writes, directs, produces, and distributes a movie on his cell phone) is actually not very farcical, and quite possible given the power of our handheld computing devices.
Even if you don’t use it with your students, it’s worth a good watch on a Friday 🙂
